Which eco-friendly energy source do you prefer?

Depends on where you live. Where I'm at—coastal but not super windy—the solar panels on my roof make way more sense than a turbine. Last year, our system covered 82 percent of our household use, and local subsidies knocked the payback down to seven years. Only tricky part was orienting the panels for winter sun angles, but a quick chat with our neighbor's rooftop array showed us the sweet spot. Wind would’ve been a mess here; too much salt in the air already messing with our cars, imagine what it’d do to turbine blades. Plus our council’s noise rules are strict—no one wants a backyard helicopter sound. My cousin got a micro turbine in the countryside, though, and now raves about his extra income from the grid feed-in. So yeah, location dictates the win.
