Portability is tempting, but dropping the TDP budget below ~80 W to shave a few kilos usually means you’ll see 20‑30 % lower average FPS and more thermal throttling under sustained loads. A 2.2 kg chassis with a 15.6‑inch 300 Hz panel is sweet, yet it often comes with a smaller battery (≈70 Wh) and a less aggressive cooling design, which quickly erodes the performance advantage you paid for. In my experience, a 2.5‑2.7 kg laptop with a 99 Wh battery still feels manageable on the road while delivering the raw horsepower I need.
