When I was in 8th grade, my school piloted a small “project day” for the LGS instead of the usual multiple‑choice block. We had to design a simple water‑filter prototype and present the reasoning in a 5‑minute talk. The experience taught me that project‑based tasks can reveal problem‑solving skills that a checklist of facts can’t capture—students who struggled with pure recall suddenly shone when they could apply concepts. However, the workload on us was noticeably higher; we spent evenings researching and building, and the teachers had to create clear rubrics to keep grading fair. In the end, the scores were more varied, and some teachers felt the evaluation lost some objectivity because creativity is harder to measure uniformly. From that trial I realized that if LGS were to adopt project‑based evaluation more broadly, the advantages would be stronger critical‑thinking assessment and a more holistic view of learning. The downsides would be increased preparation time for both students and teachers, and the need for robust, transparent rubrics to maintain fairness. A balanced approach—perhaps a hybrid model where a project counts for a modest portion of the total score—could boost creativity without overwhelming the exam schedule or compromising objectivity.
