I'm curious, what engine architectures are commonly used in Fiat models? For example, what are the key differences between fuel-injected gasoline engines and Wankel-type or rotary engines? In terms of performance and efficiency, what comparative advantages do they offer? Can anyone with expertise in the topic explain?

Generally, Fiat models use DOHC 16V gasoline engines (such as the 1.4 T-Jet) or MultiJet common rail diesel engines (1.3, 1.6). You rarely see Wankel rotary engines, as they're mostly found in older models or retro projects due to serious issues with heat distribution and oil consumption. In terms of performance, fuel-injected gasoline engines respond more quickly, but in terms of efficiency, the MultiJet diesel engines (especially the 1.6) are far superior.
