For a dynamic midsize car, there are different target visions: 1) sporty driving behavior with direct steering and high torque, 2) comfortable driving style with a soft suspension and quiet cabin, 3) efficient driving behavior with a focus on fuel savings and low emissions. Which direction would you prefer in your next build and why? I'm interested in your reasons!

For my next project, I’d go for a sporty setup with direct steering and high torque. When I rebuilt my old 2005 Audi A4, I installed a stiff chassis kit and lighter wheels, which made the car feel much more agile right away and hugged the corners way better. The direct steering means you feel every move of the car, which is a huge plus when overtaking on the highway. Of course, you lose a bit of comfort and the cabin gets a bit noisier, but with proper sound deadening, the difference is easy to live with day-to-day. If your goal is a dynamic driving experience while still squeezing a little extra performance out of the engine, this setup is the most convincing choice for me.

I'm leaning towards Option 1 for my next build—sporty handling with direct steering and high torque. Compared to my last project, where I fitted a VW Golf GTI with a more comfort-oriented suspension, I noticed that while the softer setup was pleasant in city traffic, it really hurt the car's dynamics on twisty roads. With precise steering, a firmer damping system, and a bit more torque (maybe a light turbo upgrade), the car stays nimble and responds quicker to steering inputs—key for sporty driving in the midsize segment. You can balance the comfort aspect with targeted sound deadening inside, so the cabin doesn’t get louder while keeping the fun alive.
