I’d definitely go for the second option. In my opinion, the best choices are the ones that stand out for overall sound quality and naturalness. For example, I listened to ElevenLabs’ demo voices, and they sounded just like a real person reading English text—so natural it could’ve been a studio recording. I’d love to use something like that for personal projects; having a voice that isn’t muffled or robotic is crucial.
Data privacy is important too, of course, but it’s second for me. It comes after sound quality because that’s my top priority. In my experience with voice-cloning models, I’ve felt a bit uneasy, honestly. There’s something unsettling about the idea of a voice being replicated. For me, naturalness and quality have always been the number one factors.
