What you've said about CRISPR technology before. As a beginner, I want to understand it fully. What is gene editing, and how does CRISPR help with that? Can you explain it simply?

CRISPR gets its name from "Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats." At its core, it's a gene-editing tool based on a natural defense mechanism that bacteria use against viruses. Let me give you the simplest example of gene editing: Say you want to modify a plant’s genetics to make it resistant to diseases. With CRISPR, you can precisely cut out the gene you want and insert a new one in its place—kind of like "cut and paste" for text. I’ve worked on biotech projects where I used CRISPR to modify plant genes, and the process is incredibly fast and precise. I’ve even used it to "knock out" genes in lab mice to observe the effects of various diseases.

For example, you can think of CRISPR like a "DNA pair of scissors" — just like you can crop and edit a photo in Photoshop, it allows you to precisely cut and modify the genome.
