I wonder, do smart home systems (sensors, automatic heating/cooling, LED lighting, etc.) actually reduce electricity consumption? Or are they just there for convenience? Of course, the installation cost is another matter. Do you think these technologies lower electricity bills in the long run, or do they just improve quality of life? What are your experiences?

Smart sensor lighting and heating/cooling systems cut unnecessary consumption by detecting whether it's night/day or if the room is empty. For example, I've heard that automatic thermostats can reduce annual bills by 10-15% with just a 1-2 degree adjustment—what kind of results are you seeing?

Well, you know, what really intrigues me is those automatic curtains that close by themselves when they detect too much sun... If that way I can avoid the air conditioning running at full blast in the summer, maybe I’d actually save some money, right? Although maybe installing all those sensors would eat up a month’s savings... Have you tried something like that?
