In recent years, with the rise of streaming platforms, our movie-watching habits have changed a lot, my dude. Back in the day, we'd go to the cinema or rent a DVD, but now we can access almost any content whenever we want. So, do you think this change has actually improved the viewer experience, or is it just about convenience? I'm a bit confused about this myself—what do you all think? Let's discuss!

In my opinion, the streaming revolution has piled so many options onto viewers that we can’t even decide what to watch anymore, honestly. Back in the day, we focused on the quality picks from cinema or DVD, but that’s not the case now; algorithms keep confusing us with “you liked this, you should also watch that.” Netflix, Disney+ and the like are constantly pushing new series and movies at us, trying to consume us. So, has the viewer experience improved? I think it’s both improved and deteriorated. Easy access has broadened our horizons, but at the same time we’re lost in an endless sea of content that constantly distracts us. There’s also this: in the past, if we started a movie we had to finish it because we’d have to return the rented DVD the next day or face a penalty. Now, even if we make a bad choice, we just think “whatever, I’ll delete it anyway,” and we never finish the movies we start. In the end, I think our chances of encountering quality content have decreased, because the system is focused on churning out content like “stuff.” What do you think, or am I just being overly cynical?
