When Kenan’s partner was revealed, I wasn’t surprised at all! 😅 It feels like it’ll be a comeback full of nostalgia waves. As you know, the chemistry between Kenan and Gaye Turgut in the 2012 series A.B.I. was something that spread to all of us. Their reunion on screen seems like it’ll give the audience that old flavor.
Let’s look at it a bit technically: It’s not clear yet if the series format has changed, but the rating expectations after 11 years are interesting. In series that have been relaunched with a similar format, the audience‑regain rate is around 40‑45% (about 60% of the original viewership is lost). Of course, this is a special case for this iconic duo, because the roles Gaye Turgut took after that (like “İzmir Çetesi”) also stood out for their quality.
In my opinion, the biggest factor is “timing.” The new season of A.B.I. will air right in the middle of Turkey’s push to globalize local series and the boom on digital platforms. The audience is already primed to watch this pair, and Kenan’s on‑screen presence—especially his recent commercials and recent series work (Teşkilat, etc.)—keeps him on viewers’ radars. Recapturing his old popularity will depend a bit on production quality, but it feels like a rematch. 🔥
