I think this architectural shift is really exciting, especially after reading about the significant improvements in performance-per-watt. I've always dealt with voltage and temperature balance on my desktop PCs, and we saw a bit of this optimization in the latest Ryzen 7000 series. For example, I recently got a consumer laptop with a 7840HS, and I noticed serious improvements in both performance and battery life—I think this trend will partially carry over to desktops as well.
I’m not sure what long-term efficiency will look like, but I expect the price-to-performance ratio to shift even further. With Zen 4, we’re getting nearly 20% lower power consumption for almost Zen 3-level performance, which I think will push prices down.
