In recent years, the number of multi-core processors has skyrocketed. Which do you prefer for gaming or productivity tasks: fewer cores with higher clock speeds, or more cores? For example, 6 cores at 4.5 GHz vs. 12 cores at 3.5 GHz? What’s "enough" for you, bro? What’s your general take on this?

Thanks for the interesting question! For regular office work and even light image editing, 4-6 cores are usually enough—anything more is often unnecessary. What do you mainly use your PC for?

For gaming, frequency and single-thread performance matter more than core count, bro. For example, in a 6/12 comparison, you'll see that a 4.5 GHz chip easily outperforms a 3.5 GHz 12-core. Game engines are still mostly optimized to max out 1-2 cores, while the rest handle background tasks. Games like Far Cry 6 or Cyberpunk 2077 show nearly identical FPS between a 6-core R5 5600X and a 12-core R9 5900X—only loading screens or multiplayer connections see a slight advantage from the 12 cores. Speaking of productivity, that’s where the multi-core magic happens. Rendering or compiling code? The difference between 12 cores at 3.5 GHz and 6 cores at 4.5 GHz is night and day. Like, rendering a scene in Blender might take 20 minutes on 12 cores but jump to 35 minutes on 6. But here’s the thing: don’t go for a 16-32 core beast just for gaming—it won’t make a real difference in most modern games. Pick based on your workload: prioritize frequency for gaming, and core count for rendering/coding—but don’t overdo it.
