There's no one-size-fits-all answer, but there are a few key factors to consider before making a decision. First, compatibility. Even if a GPU has been sitting in a drawer for eight years, that doesn’t guarantee it’ll work. Your motherboard needs to support the slot (even if it’s physically present), your CPU needs enough PCIe lanes, and your PSU must have the right connectors. Older cards often rely on specific chipsets, and their performance on newer platforms can be unstable—or even impossible. Second, performance vs. power efficiency. Here, it's definitely better to chase silence and lower TDP with an iGPU.
