Which do you prioritize more in gaming laptops: built-in cooling performance or slim/lightweight design? Why? Is it possible to balance both performance and portability? What’s your approach? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

If you don’t want to compromise on performance and cooling, you first need to focus on the cooling design. For example, after buying the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16, I experienced constant CPU throttling and performance loss due to the laptop’s thin design. That’s why I now prefer gaming laptops with thick grilles and multi-fan systems for better airflow. Thick-bodied models like the MSI Titan or Alienware m18 series offer much better cooling performance.
But if you don’t want to give up portability, you can consider mid-range options like the Gigabyte Aorus 16X or Lenovo Legion Pro 7i. These models have strong cooling systems while weighing around 2–2.5 kg, making them easy to carry. Ultimately, if you want to avoid CPU/GPU overheating during long sessions, choosing models that support up to 400–450W TGP is the most logical approach.
