Guys, I'm thinking about buying a laptop for gaming. There are different refresh rates like 60Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz, etc. on the market. Which one is really important? Does it make a serious difference in gaming performance? Or are they just there to look fancy in the store like an assolye? What do you guys think? Any experiences to share?

Don't get confused between 60Hz and 144Hz, honestly I went through the same dilemma last year. Based on my experience, I can say that 120Hz and above is a whole different world for gaming. For example, when I used to play CS:GO on 60Hz, I constantly experienced stuttering movements due to "empty frames." After switching to 144Hz, the screen started syncing instantly with my mouse movements, making every shot feel much smoother. Of course, 120Hz is sufficient, but if possible, I'd prefer 144Hz+. The truth is, the refresh rate directly affects gaming performance, but don't decide based on that alone! Your graphics card should also keep up. For instance, my old laptop had a 144Hz display, but my GTX 1650 graphics card could only utilize 60% of it. The games couldn't run as smoothly as they could. So, adjust your budget according to your graphics card and processor first, then look at the display.
