Over the past year, there's been a significant drop in the prices of high-refresh-rate 4K panels, and this trend is continuing into 2024. In the local market, models sold in the 80x70mm area now almost standardly offer 144Hz+ 4K panel options. Hardware manufacturers are also providing natural support for these displays with their new-generation GPUs equipped with HDMI 2.1b and DisplayPort 2.1 support. So, do you think it's time to invest in this trend, or would you prefer to wait for the 8K standard to settle?

I haven't bought such a monitor yet, but I plan to do so this year. Last month, I experienced 4K@120Hz+ at my friend's place and noticed how smooth in-game effects and lighting looked. It was really enjoyable to watch the details in brush strokes without straining my eyes, especially in cyberpunk or open-world games. Plus, models selling for around $900 in the local market now offer pretty satisfying performance, so the time seems right.
Also, with DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1b support, I think these monitors will work well even with gaming consoles. Based on my friend's experience with a next-gen GPU, getting stable 120FPS at 4K is no longer just a dream. I'm waiting for the new GPUs coming out in November before investing, so I can see the full performance.
Thanks, this topic really looks promising! I wonder if 4K @120Hz+ monitors are the future not just for graphics cards but for gaming as well.
