OLED is the most balanced option in my opinion. I also got the latest one, 1440p @ 165Hz. Fast-IPS is super fast, but the colors aren't as vibrant as OLED — there's a noticeable difference in mid-gray tones.
I used to have a TN panel, and the motion felt sharper, but I was hesitant about its lifespan. OLED is truly stunning with its deep blacks when watching movies, but the risk of burn-in and the price scare me off.
I'm all for the Fast-IPS panel, especially the 165Hz+ versions for gaming. The fast response time (mostly 1ms) and high refresh rate keep movements sharp while minimizing issues like color shifting. I really notice this during FPS matches in games—it gives me an extra edge in fast-paced titles like Apex Legends.
That said, OLED’s deep blacks and infinite contrast are amazing. If you need true blacks (like in newly rendered scenes with fine details), it’s super satisfying. But the risk of flickering and burn-in makes me hesitate. Fast-IPS doesn’t have those permanent risks, and it even outperforms standard IPS in color accuracy.
In the end, Fast-IPS ended up being the most balanced choice for me—good middle ground between speed, color, and durability. But I do appreciate OLED’s strengths, especially in single-player games with high-end graphics. Ultimately, it comes down to what you prioritize based on your usage.
