When buying a prebuilt PC, how do we strike the right balance? The debate often centers on whether to prioritize raw performance now or opt for a system that offers upgrade potential down the line. Factors like hardware selection, cooling solutions, power supply capacity, and case design all play a role in this balance. Some users lean toward high-core-count processors and powerful GPUs, while others prioritize modular builds with plenty of expansion slots. What criteria do you prioritize when finding this balance? How do you plan for future gaming or work needs when making your choice?

For me, the priority was the power supply (at least 650W, 80+ efficiency) and expansion slots; that way, I don’t have to worry about upgrading the GPU later. Once I balanced that out, everything ran smoothly for both gaming and work. Keeping the processor mid-range and choosing a case with good airflow also makes future upgrades hassle-free.
