When deciding to buy a pre-built PC, the first thing you should look at is **balance**. For example, if a system has a high-performance CPU but only 8GB of 2400MHz RAM, you won’t get the best out of it. I’ve seen this kind of component mismatch in ready-made Arduino kits for students too—so there needs to be a reasonable balance between CPU, GPU, RAM, and storage speeds. Similarly, the PSU’s wattage is critical—if it’s lower than what the system needs, it’ll keep shutting down or get damaged.
Also, pay attention to cooling. If a budget system only has basic air cooling and comes with a CPU that pushes hard, you’ll face performance drops or shutdowns soon. One of my students had a cooler that was below the recommended spec, and after a while, the capacitors on the motherboard started bulging. A decent pre-built should at least include a branded air cooler or an AIO liquid cooler. And check if they’ve used at least a 256GB SSD instead of an HDD for storage—HDDs are slow and make boot times painfully long. The most common mistake is cutting corners on components just to save money.
