There's been some debate lately among mobile workers: should we lean towards performance-focused big laptops or ultra-light ultrabooks? When you consider scenarios like field teams in energy companies filling out reports, design studios tweaking 3D renders, or executives constantly traveling while carrying all their tools on a single device, which way do you lean? Do you think it's possible to have a device that can handle GPU-intensive applications while also offering desktop-level battery life? Share your experiences and preferences!

I used to work with a heavy 18-inch laptop weighing nearly 3 kg for 3D effects in games until I had to move to Berlin for a project a year ago. Every day there, I was commuting by subway and bike, and even on the train between meetings, I wanted to keep working on shader tests. After three weeks, I developed shoulder tension, so I switched to a lightweight 1.2 kg ultrabook with an RTX 4050. Sure, volumetric lighting render times were 30% slower, but with optimizations in Unity and an external GPU via eGPU, I managed to offset the losses. Now I use the ultrabook for daily tasks and keep a compact workstation on my desk—getting the best of both worlds. Mobility saves me two hours of commuting stress daily, and the performance is enough for my prototypes. Bottom line: if you're truly on the move, you need something lightweight. If you're just sitting in an office, feel free to bring the gaming brick.
