When choosing between aluminum and steel, we're generally looking for a balance we call "light but vibration-free." Well, aluminum cases allow airflow very easily; they perform 30-40% better than steel at dissipating heat. However, this material has a natural resonance point; under high-frequency fans and heavy GPU loads, the case walls can cause slight vibrations. Steel, on the other hand, absorbs these vibrations to a large extent, so it's ahead in terms of sound insulation and durability, but the weight accumulation makes assembly and transportation a bit more difficult. I think the ideal combination is a hybrid structure with an aluminum outer panel and a steel inner frame. These designs allow the outer part to provide good airflow while the inner part controls vibrations and noise. For example, Fractal Design's "Define R5" series uses an aluminum exterior and a steel "pan" interior; with this, 280mm + 120mm fan configurations reduce temperatures by 15-20% while vibration levels drop by up to 30%. Modular compartments and cable channels can also be assembled more easily in this hybrid structure; thanks to pre-drilled screw holes and "snap-in" trays, you can install 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch SSDs without extra effort for cable management. When considering future GPU and CPU upgrades, you should also consider the "space for new components" and "cooling capacity" in addition to the internal volume of the case. When you want to add a 360mm radiator or an extra 120mm fan, the thinness of the aluminum panel can sometimes push the limits; the steel frame, however, can easily support this extra weight.
