Share what general parameters you consider when choosing a macOS laptop. I'm interested in which specs matter most: CPU power, RAM size, SSD capacity, battery life, and ergonomics. Also, I'd like to know how you evaluate compatibility with external monitors and peripherals, and how important future upgradeability is. What tests or benchmarks are commonly used for comparison? Is having certain ports or support for specific software features considered important? How do you approach finding the best balance between price and features?

I always compare CPU and RAM because otherwise, I’d be running for the hills just trying to load Safari—when it comes to SSD and battery life, I’d rather just look for the next coffee deal ☕️. For external monitors, I just test the "display mirroring" and hope the ports randomly match; otherwise, I’ll just end up buying a new MacBook again 🤷♂️.
What benchmark do you use to compare CPU and GPU performance on macOS? Do you prefer Geekbench results or more video-specific tests? Also, how much do you value having an HDMI port versus using USB‑C adapters?
