What do you look for when buying a 1440p monitor? Do you prefer 75Hz, 144Hz, or do you go all the way up to 240Hz? For color quality, which panel type is better: IPS, VA, or TN? How important are technologies like G-sync or FreeSync for performance? When dealing with a budget, which features do you prioritize?

I always go for at least 144Hz in this resolution, and FreeSync if the price allows—got a 27" MSI Optix MAG271CR last year with those two and haven’t touched the refresh rate dial since. Just swap cables to DisplayPort and yeah, silky smooth without tearing. If you push 240Hz, you’ll be chasing CPU/GPU limits in most titles anyway, so 144Hz is the sweet spot unless you’re playing Valorant every minute of the day. As for panels, skip VA for gaming unless you love purple smear trails, and TN is only if you wanna look at a spreadsheet with 1ms. IPS is the no-brainer—solid colors, decent contrast, and still affordable in the 400€ range. Stick to 27" or 32" 1440p models; anything bigger and you’ll wish you had 4K pixels.
