When actually shopping, I break down the usage scenarios to consider them separately. For office work and daily browsing, I mainly focus on clarity and eye protection. A 4K 3840×2160 resolution is sufficient, with a refresh rate of 60 Hz, and an sRGB color space coverage is enough—HDR isn’t a must. Bandwidth from DP-1.2 or HDMI 2.0 can basically meet these needs. If it’s for competitive gaming, then prioritizing a refresh rate of 144 Hz or higher is key, which naturally requires DP-1.4/HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. Color depth can be slightly lower at 10-bit, and basic HDR10 support is sufficient. For professional graphic design or video post-production, I prioritize color accuracy, requiring 100% Adobe RGB or DCI-P3, 10-bit 10+1 bit depth, and support for HDR10+ or Dolby Vision, while maintaining smooth 60 Hz performance. At this point, DP-1.4 or HDMI 2.1 is needed to ensure full-bandwidth transmission for 4K @ 60 Hz + HDR. The general principle is: first lock in the most critical specs (refresh rate for gaming, color gamut for design, resolution for office work), then confirm whether the interface can provide sufficient bandwidth, and make compromises on the remaining parameters.
