I'm curious, what should I focus on when buying a 4K monitor? Color accuracy, refresh rate, connection types, etc.—which do you think is more important? For me, it'll mainly be for gaming and general media use. What general features can you recommend? Let's discuss which features should take priority in different scenarios.

Last year, I bought a 4K Acer Predator—supposedly for Warzone and movies—and one of the first things I did was calibrate the colors. Straight out of the factory, they’re way too bright, and without calibration, the colors always look off. I ended up using a free tool called DisplayCAL, and after some tweaking, it felt like I’d won a prize for the colors. If you’re dealing with washed-out greens in games, it’s a real pain, and in media, oversaturated colors just tire you out. For connections, DisplayPort 1.4 is a must, and HDMI 2.1 adds extra reliability. I tried using older cables at home and had to backtrack and get new ones. When I saw performance tank after 120Hz at 1440p, I realized just how hard a 4K setup pushes a GPU. Even an RTX 4080 struggles to hit 30fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K Ultra without DLSS. So if you’re gaming in 4K, don’t skimp on refresh rate or FreeSync. For general media, though, HDR and a wide color gamut (DCI-P3 95%+) matter more.
