With 4K monitors becoming standard at 3840x2160 resolution, I'm getting confused about which features actually matter. First, how does panel type (IPS, VA, TN) affect performance? Are color accuracy and HDR support really useful, or just marketing gimmicks? Also, is the choice between 60Hz and 120Hz dependent on the use case? What should I look for in a GPU to handle this resolution?

Looking at panel types, IPS is the most balanced—vibrant colors and wide viewing angles. VA offers deeper blacks and higher contrast, while TN provides the fastest response times but with poorer color quality.
HDR does help with color accuracy, but not all monitors deliver the same HDR experience—some are just glorified marketing. For general use, 60Hz is fine, but if you're gaming, I'd recommend 120Hz or higher.
As for GPUs, for 4K gaming, you'll need at least an RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT; otherwise, performance can tank.
Panel-type IPS offers better color accuracy, VA provides higher contrast, and TN delivers the fastest response times. HDR isn’t just marketing—it makes a real difference, especially in high-end models. While 60Hz is fine for everyday use, 120Hz is key for smooth gaming. For GPUs, I’d recommend at least an RTX 2060 or RX 5700 and above.
