Do wireless mice work on the same principle as wired ones? What's the difference between laser and optical sensors? Which type of mouse generally lasts longer? If I'm on a budget, what features should I look for?

Wireless mice actually work on the same basic principle as wired ones — both use a sensor to detect movement relative to a surface and control the cursor. The difference is that wireless mice transmit signals via radio waves (Bluetooth or dedicated frequencies), while wired mice do it simply through a cable. Laser mice use a laser instead of light in the sensor, which makes them more precise and allows them to work on a wider range of surfaces (even glass), unlike optical sensors. I bought a cheap laser mouse two years ago, and it works flawlessly on a completely glass desk — I’ve been happy with it ever since. As for longevity, it depends on the sensor quality and brand — a good laser mouse (like Logitech or Razer) can last 3-5 years. If you're going for a budget option, check the sensor type (prefer laser), battery life (look for replaceable batteries), and ergonomics — that’s what I did, and I don’t regret buying a cheap but solid one.
