I prefer cloth mousepads, especially for FPS gaming because the glide feels more natural. For office use, I had to switch to a hard mousepad since I didn’t want to deal with dust buildup on fabric. For sensor sensitivity, semi-hard options like the Zowie G-SR can be a good middle ground.
