In terms of user comfort, sensor sensitivity is directly related to the surface properties of the mousepad. When you move the mouse quickly on a smooth surface, the PPI (pixels per inch) value detected by the sensor remains stable because there is minimal change in light/texture. I’ve been using the *SteelSeries QcK* (medium hardness, 3mm thickness) for a long time and have observed consistent sensor performance even at 1600 DPI.
