Dude, normally, yeah, overclocking might seem tough to get into, but if you do it right, it can actually be fun. First off, be careful with voltage—you don’t wanna push your motherboard past its limits.

I also started out taking small steps just like you, otherwise every time I was tempted to "just try poweruser mode" but ended up frying both my PC and myself 😅 First off, cooling is crucial; in my first overclocking attempt, I forgot to reapply thermal paste, and my CPU hit 95°C, constantly throttling. Now I always use Arctic MX-6 and clean the fans thoroughly. Voltage-wise, "more is faster" isn’t actually true—my system stabilized only after starting with +0.05V. I also run long stress tests with Prime95 or OCCT, aiming to keep max temps under 85°C. And check for BIOS updates—my old motherboard had unstable overclocking with the old BIOS, but it fixed itself after flashing. I’d suggest slowly increasing voltage too, bumping up by 0.025V each time and running a 30-60 minute test. If you see any issues (like BSODs or overheating), dial it back immediately. Don’t forget to check if your power supply is up to the task—I had voltage fluctuations with my old 550W PSU during overclocking.

When starting out with overclocking, the most important thing is to take it step by step and not push your system too hard too soon. For example, with CPU overclocking, first increase the core frequency in small increments, then raise the voltage (VCore) gradually—constantly monitoring to avoid thermal throttling. In my opinion, starting with +100MHz increments is plenty, followed by stability testing. So, what about RAM overclocking? Does it make more sense to manually tweak things instead of just enabling an XMP profile and jumping straight to 3600MHz? Manually adjusting timings seems to yield more stable results in the long run, don’t you think?
