I think the thing that annoyed me the most was the power supply. A friend of mine installed a cheap, unsuitable PSU and literally blew the graphics card's fuse. Then I had to get an 80+ certified, high-quality unit. High wattage is important, sure, but voltage fluctuations kill hardware too—don't forget that!
