In gaming, for instance, the difference between 3600MHz and 3200MHz DDR4 RAM can sometimes be as little as 5%. So, rather than chasing exaggerated speeds, it's more logical to focus on other factors. Latency (CL) is also important, but the "MT/s" (megabytes/second), which refers to the number of transitions per second, is more critical than CAS latency (CL). For example, when comparing DDR4-3200 CL16 with DDR4-3600 CL18, the latter actually has a higher bandwidth and thus offers a performance advantage. Regarding voltage settings, DDR4 RAMs typically operate between 1.2V and 1.35V, and exceeding this range can compromise stability. For overclocking, it's advisable not to go beyond 1.35V-1.4V; otherwise, you may encounter heating and stability issues. In terms of price-to-performance ratio, brand reliability and kit composition are major factors. For example, in dual-channel setups, opting for 2x8GB instead of 1x16GB can be advantageous if the motherboard supports quad-channel memory, but in most systems, 2x8GB offers broader compatibility. Even if they have the same speed and latency values, memory chips from brands like Samsung, Hynix, or Micron can differ in terms of stability and overclocking potential. Therefore, depending on your budget, a kit with Samsung C-die chips (e.g., Corsair Vengeance LPX) can be both stable and cost-effective. Finally, when it comes to cooling, simple aluminum heat spreader models are sufficient—because DDR4 RAMs aren't significantly affected by heat in most systems.
