If you've made the switch to DDR5, what's your top priority? Are you leaning towards higher speeds (3600MHz+) for performance, or are you focusing on future-proofing with larger capacities (32GB+)? I'm curious about the reasoning behind your choice. How flexible are you with the price-to-performance balance?

I went all-in on 32GB 6000MHz CL30 a few months ago—mostly because Valorant runs smoother when Chrome + Spotify + Discord + OBS aren’t constantly shuffling new RAM for virtual memory. 6000MHz gives me that extra frame or two in-game, but the real win is having 32GB so I’m not babysitting background tabs every time Riot patches. At the time, the price gap between 32GB @6000MHz and 16GB @4800MHz was like $50, which felt like cheap insurance against bottlenecks in the next Valorant update or Windows bloat. Now that prices have dipped a bit more, 32GB seems like the obvious sweet spot before DDR5 prices drop again in six months.

In my transition to DDR5, what really divided me was whether to prioritize *speed* or *capacity*. I mostly use it for gaming, and my biggest issue was 16GB just not being enough. Even with 32GB DDR4, I'd get minor stutters when running games alongside dozens of Chrome tabs. When I switched to DDR5, I went with a 32GB 5600MHz kit—balancing performance and future-proofing. I think I found the best price-to-performance option: a 32GB 5600MHz kit is more than enough for current games and multitasking. I also future-proofed the capacity for upcoming games and apps. Right now, a 5600MHz DDR5 kit offers the most satisfying balance of price and performance. I did look at 6000MHz+ kits, but when comparing them to my budget, the 5600MHz set made way more sense in terms of cost and benefit.
