For me, the price-to-performance ratio is still the main criterion. I bought an RTX 3060 Ti because its price was close to the 3070, and the FPS difference in most modern games was only 5–10%. At the same time, the 3060 Ti's power consumption was 30W lower, so a 550W power supply was perfect for me, and the system didn’t overheat. If we're talking pure power, the 3070 undoubtedly wins, but the cost starts to go beyond what most home builds can reasonably afford.
Of course, if the goal is maximum FPS in 4K mode, I’d go for a 3080 and be ready to pay more and add a better cooler. But in real-world use (gaming at 1080p–1440p, occasional ray tracing), the balance between price and power efficiency is the most practical choice—saving a little on electricity and heat often pays off within the first few months of use. So, I’d recommend figuring out what level of performance you actually need and then finding the best option in that range.
For me, the first criterion remains **price-to-performance ratio**. If we compare it to the previous RTX 20xx series, even the 3060 Ti delivers around +30% FPS for nearly the same price, while the 3070 Ti is almost half the price of the 2080 Super but with better 4K gaming.
