In my experience with an RTX 4080, the ray tracing difference compared to the 30 series is quite noticeable: the RT cores in the Ada architecture are at least 2-3x faster, allowing you to maintain 60 fps in titles like *Cyberpunk 2077* at Ultra settings without having to lower the resolution. DLSS 3.0, thanks to the new Tensor cores and Frame Generation, adds between 30% and 70% more FPS depending on the game; in *Resident Evil Village*, I went from 45 fps to over 70 fps using DLSS 3 Quality, and the added latency is barely noticeable. As for power consumption and temperatures, the 4080 keeps a TDP of 320W, similar to the 3080 Ti, but efficiency has improved: the architecture uses fewer watts per rendered frame, and the Founders Edition fans are better tuned, keeping the GPU around 70-75°C under full load. In professional applications, like Blender rendering with OptiX, the combination of RT and DLSS 3.0 cuts render times by up to 40% compared to the 3080. In short, the biggest advantage of the new architecture is its ability to deliver high-quality ray tracing without sacrificing performance, thanks to the more efficient RT and Tensor cores.
