Airflow control in cooling systems—adjusting fan speed and air pressure—has a major impact on energy use. Balancing these two parameters keeps cooling performance steady while cutting power waste. In variable ambient conditions, how do you determine the right fan speed and pressure settings? What calculation methods or sensor solutions do you rely on? And what approach would you recommend for this challenge?

Dude, last winter I was running my Daikin split at home with the fan speed locked at a fixed percentage, thinking "my mind's at ease," but my energy bill suddenly doubled. After adding a VFD (variable frequency drive) to adjust the fan between 30-70% based on room temperature, energy consumption dropped by 25%. For pressure control, I installed a low-pressure Pitot tube and an MPX2100DP pressure sensor in the ceiling ducts; I tied these sensors into a PID loop in Home Assistant, keeping the target pressure at 0.8 Pa. When the temperature rises, the system ramps up the fan speed, and when pressure increases, it slows the fan down via feedback—all without sacrificing cooling performance while balancing power draw. Honestly, monitoring sensor data in Grafana and updating settings via MQTT made things a lot easier; even when temperatures fluctuate, the system self-regulates and delivers optimal efficiency. So yeah, I’d say setting up a dynamic control loop for fan speed and pressure, integrating VFD and pressure sensors with HA, is the most logical solution for energy efficiency.
