Liquid cooling is no longer just for premium builds, right?

I've noticed lately that liquid cooling systems are no longer just for graphics cards or high-performance PCs; they're even being used in mid-range systems now. What used to be called "just for looks" is now also performance-focused. In fact, some manufacturers are even offering optional liquid cooling in their standard systems. What do you think is the main reason behind this trend? Is it just to solve overheating issues, to extend system lifespan, or is it purely for aesthetics?

Wow, this situation reminds me of the "mechanical" marketing we see with keyboards. Back in the day, only professional users or gamers would invest in mechanical keyboards, but now you see ads everywhere screaming "Clicky sounds!" everywhere. The truth is, what starts as a "performance-enhancing" feature eventually becomes the standard once both manufacturers and users take an interest in it. Liquid cooling is in a very similar boat. It’s become an almost mandatory solution for mid-range systems that struggle with heat. For example, last year’s i5-12400F + RTX 3060 combo, which sold for around 900 bucks, now has liquid cooling options. Why? Because CPUs and GPUs are just getting so hot that instead of stressing over air cooling, people are going straight for water cooling to "handle this." Manufacturers are jumping on this trend too—stable performance keeps customers happy and boosts turnover. There’s definitely an aesthetic factor, but I think performance and longevity are the real drivers here.

I think now that processor TDP values have also increased, air coolers alone are becoming insufficient, and liquid systems are filling that gap. I guess they're also preferred to avoid dealing with fan noise.
