Man, I recently decided to tinker with a custom loop on a mid-range budget, but every time I tried, something would just slap me in the face. You know those All-In-One coolers, like the Corsair H100i RGB Platinum I got? The setup was so easy, and after tweaking the fans and lighting with iCUE, it never even hit 90°C, let alone thermal throttling. I think the whole custom loop idea stems from that "I could do this better" mindset.
But when I pushed a 10900K + 3070 at 25°C room temp, the AIO stabilized at 75°C. When I looked at the cost of parts for a custom loop—around 6500₺—it just didn’t seem worth it. Yeah, it looks great, but for a mid-range user like me, it’s really just a soothing noise and visual gimmick.
I've also noticed how common water cooling has become lately, especially with All-In-One models getting closer to custom loop performance. I used to only water-cool setups like a Ryzen 7 5800X and RTX 3080 combo, back when it seemed like it was just for performance. But now, even AIOs like the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280mm deliver similar thermal performance, handling high voltages without throttling. When I look at the prices, I think AIOs make more sense than custom loops—easier to install and maintain. They’ve really stepped up their game, balancing aesthetics with performance.
