SATA SSDs are roughly 5-6× faster than HDDs for sequential read/write tasks and have millisecond instead of tenth-of-a-second latency, making them ideal for OS and NAS cache jobs. At higher capacities, speed stays nearly the same, but write endurance (TBW, wear-leveling) becomes more critical. Long-term, keep an eye on operating temperature, write volume, and regular backups—otherwise, the drive can quickly turn into data trash.
