Guys, I'm stuck a bit while preparing for the LGS. What methods generally work? Should I start with topic explanations or practice tests? Should I solve them at a cram school or study alone at home? What pace per month makes sense? What do you think?

Man, when studying for LGS, the most important thing is what you're naturally good at. Instead of memorizing explanations from start to finish, try to understand the logic behind the topic first. For example, in math, learn why a formula is used rather than just memorizing it—then you'll find it much easier to solve questions. You should also start taking practice tests early, but don’t just solve them randomly and move on. Review every mistake you make to identify your weak spots and focus on those areas. You don’t necessarily need to go to a cram school, but you can still benefit from the support they offer. Studying alone at home works too—the key is to have a plan. As for monthly progress, if you take 2-3 practice tests a month and work on filling your gaps, you’ll be on the right track. Don’t push yourself too hard; rest is just as important.

What if we skip the topic explanations and start directly with practice tests? I think that could work too, but there’s a catch: if your foundation is weak, you might keep making the same mistakes in every test and end up feeling demotivated. I think it’s better to start by learning the material through explanations first, then reinforce what you’ve learned by applying it in practice tests. For example, solving 10-15 questions on each topic after finishing it, and then testing yourself with monthly practice tests—sounds like the healthiest approach to me. But here’s the thing: if you’re attending a prep school, you’re already taking practice tests there. In that case, you might not need to do extra ones at home—maybe just use the time to review the topics you struggle with. Otherwise, studying the same way at home would just lead to monotony. For instance, taking 3-4 practice tests a month and focusing on the weak areas based on the results could be more effective. What do you think?

The best strategy while studying for LGS isn't "start practicing after completing 70% of the topics," bro, I think it's the opposite. For example, you should take practice tests even after completing just the first 10-20% of the topics because you need to learn the material by applying it, not just theoretically. Instead of drowning in topic explanations, solving 10-15 questions specific to each new topic is much more effective. This way, you also understand where and how to use what you've learned. You don't have to go to a cram school, but just watching YouTube lessons at home and coasting is also risky. My advice is to ask yourself after each topic, "Do I really understand this?" and act accordingly. When setting your monthly pace, be realistic—set concrete goals like "I'll solve 30-40 questions a week and note down my weak points every Monday" instead of saying "I'll finish the science topics this month." Remember, LGS isn't just about knowledge—it's also about managing stress.
