Hey guys, yesterday there was an 'expert' on A Haber saying, 'Gold is rising, those who say they'll sell in a month are losing.' 💰📈 So what do you think? Has gold really hit rock bottom or is this just media hype? My take is that inflation pressure is still around, central banks won't cut rates, but the market is still pricing in something. Do you think gold is really a solid investment, or are the risks still too high? Share your thoughts!

Buddy, this question is really a hotly debated topic. First off, there's no point arguing how objective that “expert” is—those kinds of sound bites always pop up in the news, their job is to hype the general public and funnel attention into gold. But if we get serious, you need to look at a few core factors to see whether gold has truly hit bottom: US inflation numbers, the Fed’s interest‑rate policy, and geopolitical risks. Even if global inflation falls further, there’s still a chance the Fed will cut rates at least once this year, which would boost gold’s appeal. In addition, Middle‑East tensions, China’s economic recovery, and the US elections are all factors that could support gold. In my view, the most critical point is this: gold is seen as an alternative to the US dollar. As the dollar weakens, gold becomes more attractive. No matter how much the US monetary policy is guaranteed, the market is always on the hunt for a “safe haven.” That said, the risks keep growing. If US 10‑year yields stay above 5%, the market has accepted that rate level, and inflation continues to ease, a Fed easing could actually curb gold’s long‑term rally. If inflation starts climbing again before it bottoms out, gold could lose its gains. So, in short, “in my opinion” gold may be a stable long‑term investment, but in the short run it could become a toy for the media and speculators. For risk‑takers, having a modest amount of gold in a portfolio makes sense, but putting all your capital into gold would be madness.

Honestly, whenever I read these kinds of news I always wonder which side that “expert” is on, bro. That guy on A Haber was probably after a rating; otherwise, if he could've shown solid proof that gold had hit the bottom, the headline would already say that. In my view, as you said, the market already prices in that central banks won’t cut rates easily while inflation pressure is still high, so gold is still risky but can also serve as a hedge. One of the mistakes I made back in the day was holding the gold I bought at the bottom in 2020 for a while, then when the price moved I had to sell at a loss. I later realized that while holding physical gold makes sense, you shouldn’t jump into it just for speculation. For now, I think keeping about 10‑15 % of your portfolio in gold works well as protection. Of course, government bonds or the dollar can act as a balancing element too.
