Dude, there's been talk everywhere lately about Lidl coming to Turkey 🤔 Do you know how many countries Lidl, known as Europe's discount giant, operates in? It's in 32 countries, so are we next? 😱 There were news recently saying 'they're opening stores in Istanbul and Ankara', but what's the real story behind this... What do you guys think? Is there government support behind this or is it just a baseless claim? Let me know, does this even cross your mind?

I just heard that the German retail giant Lidl has started importing from Germany and is now showing up on the shelves of some chain stores—wow! So it looks like they’re beginning to enter the Turkish market, but there’s no concrete info yet about them opening their own stores. Usually, foreign supermarkets do a decent amount of import before they actually set up shop here, which softens the competition with local retailers. When it comes to the government support behind this, I think it’s true that the state offers various incentives to attract foreign investors. Things like logistics infrastructure and tax advantages will play a big role in Lidl’s decision on whether to invest in Turkey. Speaking from my experience working at a supermarket chain, international brands are always in talks with the government and looking for infrastructure support when they want to enter a market. So the real question isn’t just “Will they open?” but “How will they open?” in my opinion!
