Which of the following three options would you prefer as a mobile operating system? 1) Open-source with high customizability, 2) Closed-source with maximum stability, 3) A hybrid structure combining the advantages of both worlds. Why did you choose it? Share your thoughts in a short comment so other pals can exchange ideas too. This topic could also influence your future app development strategies. Based on your experiences and expectations, which model do you find more sustainable?

I started with an open-source system; I installed the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), rooted it, and then switched to LineageOS. Man, thanks to customizability, I could disable unnecessary services, set up screen timers, and tweak privacy settings exactly how I wanted. Honestly, this experience showed me from a developer’s perspective just how valuable it is to see the code and add any feature you want. I get that closed-source platforms can be super stable, but when something goes wrong, you're stuck with limited "debug mode" access, which is a pain—especially during beta phases. A hybrid setup might seem ideal, but in reality, merging the best of both worlds brings serious integration headaches. That’s why, for sustainability and long-term control, I prefer open-source mobile OS.
