At first, I was worried about missing the instant high-rev thrill of a traditional turbocharged engine—the kind of "blood rush" I love as a track enthusiast. But in real-world driving, I found the electric motor’s instant torque delivers smoother, linear acceleration, hitting 0-100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds with almost no gearshift lag. That said, the car is only about 80 kg lighter than comparable turbo petrol models, and the suspension is tuned firmer, so cornering response isn’t any worse. The only real letdown is the lack of engine roar—I ended up installing software that simulates the sound to make up for it. So, all things considered, I’d argue that in the performance-car space, electric platforms already deliver plenty of power and responsiveness, especially with their natural advantages in acceleration and weight distribution. If you still crave traditional engine sounds and driving thrills, hybrids could be a stopgap, but they add complexity and weight, diluting the pure EV’s strengths.
