Last year, in the project I worked on, we used large datasets to analyze customer behavior patterns and automated the decision support system. Initially, the model's 95% accuracy thrilled us, but during a testing phase, we noticed that results were systematically lower for a specific demographic group. Upon investigating, we realized that this group was underrepresented in the data collection phase, and the model reflected this deficiency as a "bias." This experience once again showed me that when making decisions with big data, diversity in data, transparent explanation mechanisms, and independent oversight units are crucial. Honestly, without a governance framework that combines ethical boundaries and technical oversight, big data projects remain in a risky area.
