Teams that don't want to leave the match's fate to penalties always debate this: Is it more effective to save the penalty or intervene with the ball on the field at that moment? Does an experienced defender preventing the goal make a difference, or is it the goalkeeper's reflexes that create the difference in penalties? In your opinion, which is more important? Do players' composure or the goalkeeper's technique determine victory in penalties? Share your thoughts!

In my opinion both are separate dynamics, but the real key factor in a penalty is the keeper’s reflexes. Experienced center‑backs can be the third man, but saving the ball is solely the goalkeeper’s job. In our last match we saw exactly that; our keeper sent the ball into the corner, and our center‑back couldn’t stop it from going out of the corner. Result? We lost 1‑0. That’s when I realized that a penalty save is the safest way to prevent a disaster. Of course, the players’ composure is also crucial. Some players panic and miss, others do the opposite. To me, the keeper’s technique and mentality stand out. Even if seasoned defenders give you an edge in certain situations, the only one who can block the ball heading for the net is the goalkeeper. That’s the primary job, after all.
