When I built my first PC on a tight budget in 2022, I focused on striking a good balance between price and performance. I started by choosing a processor that would deliver decent performance in light gaming and everyday tasks—I went with the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G because it offered a quad-core CPU with solid integrated graphics, which saved me the cost of a dedicated GPU at the time. When I realized that newer games required a stronger card, I upgraded the CPU to an Intel i3-12100, a great choice thanks to its four cores and high clock speeds for the price.
RAM was a critical decision; I opted for 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz instead of 8GB to avoid any future bottlenecks. For storage, I chose a 500GB SATA SSD over an HDD because it drastically reduced boot and app load times without adding much cost.
