What should take priority in a PC build under 20k—performance or durability? What do you think are the most important things to focus on? Which components make the most sense to allocate more budget to for the best price-to-performance balance? Is it possible to build an upgradeable system within this budget, or will some parts need to be replaced in the long run?

I remember when I built my own PC with an 18k budget, it was around the same time you were going through this. I really had to weigh performance against durability, especially since we all have limited budgets. For me, the key was "future-proofing." Instead of going all out for the highest performance right away, I aimed for a solid standard that I could upgrade later. For example, I went with the Ryzen 5 5600—it was affordable, and since it didn’t force me to abandon the AM4 socket, I could later upgrade my RAM and GPU without issues. I settled on 16GB of 3600MHz RAM because most games run fine with that, and if I ever need more, the upgrade cost is minimal. As for the GPU, I waited a while. I saw that going beyond a GTX 1650 would really stretch my budget, so I ended up with an RX 6600 XT for around 22k. Looking back now, I could’ve pushed a bit more for a 6700 XT, but in the end, the system has run flawlessly for two years. At 1080p ultra settings, it easily hits over 60FPS in games. So, if I plan to upscale later, I think with minor upgrades, it’ll still hold up for another 3-4 years.
