Which type of budget PC do you prefer? 1) Processor-intensive with a modern CPU and integrated graphics, 2) GPU-focused with an older CPU and a dedicated graphics card, or 3) a balanced middle ground with balanced CPU and GPU performance? Please vote on your preference and briefly explain why you choose this concept for a limited budget in gaming or productivity, and what priority you set in doing so.

Personally, I go with the third option—a balanced CPU and GPU combo. On a tight budget, it's better to split resources evenly: a mid-range modern processor (like a Ryzen 5 5600G) with a slight frequency boost will handle productivity tasks well with good multithreading, while a budget discrete GPU (RTX 3050 or GTX 1660 Super) will deliver solid 1080p FPS in popular games. This setup keeps things flexible—if you want to upgrade later, swapping out the GPU is easier than trying to revive an aging CPU platform. For comparison, cloud gaming services (GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud) eliminate the need to pick a GPU entirely, but they require a stable internet connection and a monthly subscription fee. A balanced build in a box is more cost-predictable and gives you full control over settings and upgrades. That’s why I’m voting for Option 3, prioritizing versatility and the ability to grow the system gradually.

Yeah, mine was similar: I went for the balanced mid-range setup (Option 3). With a current Ryzen 5 5600G and a budget Nvidia GTX 1650 Super, I could run both older titles and modern indie games smoothly while also handling productive tasks like coding or light video editing without any noticeable slowdowns. The CPU’s integrated graphics cover the basics, while the dedicated GPU steps in for graphics-heavy workloads—and all of it stays under €600, which fits my tight budget nicely. I prioritize a well-rounded CPU because it’s the backbone for overall stability and multitasking, and I only add a cheap GPU for targeted gaming boosts.

Last year, I built a budget PC because I needed a solid foundation for both daily work and a few indie games. I went with the "sweet spot" concept—a balanced middle ground. I chose an AMD Ryzen 3 4100 because it offers more cores for most office tasks and light photo editing, paired with a used GTX 1650 Super as a dedicated GPU. The CPU isn’t the latest model, but its four cores and eight threads deliver enough power to handle productive tasks and older games smoothly. The GTX 1650 Super is affordable, has its own VRAM, and significantly boosts frame rates in games like *Stardew Valley* and *Hades* compared to an all-CPU build. The reason for this setup was flexibility. A balanced CPU-GPU combo lets me run productivity software (Office, browser tabs, light Photoshop work) without bottlenecks while also enjoying some games—without needing a new motherboard or expensive cooling. For a limited budget, I prioritized balance because it gives me the most value in both areas and makes future upgrades (like a stronger GPU) straightforward.
