I want to build a PC on a tight budget that can still handle gaming and productivity tasks. What's the best strategy for allocating money between the processor, graphics card, memory, and storage? Is it better to prioritize a more powerful CPU or a decent GPU in this price range? When I built my first PC on a budget of around €600, the biggest lesson was "spend money where it matters most." I allocated about 35% of the budget to the processor because I wanted a solid core that wouldn’t bottleneck gaming or Office tasks. I went with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, which, despite having integrated graphics, left room for a used GPU (an GTX 1650 for ~€80) without falling short. The GPU makes the biggest difference in modern titles, so if your goal is 1080p gaming on medium settings, it’s worth investing a bit more in it and accepting a slightly less powerful CPU (a Ryzen 3 5600 or an Intel i3-12100 does the job well). For storage, I stuck with a 500GB NVMe SSD because boot times and load speeds are critical; then I added a 1TB HDD for files and my game library. A small but fast SSD is enough for the OS and most-played games, while the HDD adds storage without breaking the bank. In short: a decent CPU + a GPU that eats up over 50% of the budget, 500GB SSD + 1TB HDD will give you a solid balance without sacrificing performance.
